At the end of November, I tested the Bond Top pattern for Stacey, from Boy Oh Boy Oh Boy Crafts. Since this is her entry for the Designers Challenge, sharing any image of the pattern was strictly prohibited until December 18th, so here it is at last!
The Bond Top is a unisex pattern, made of a combination of knit and woven. Because the pattern has a few details and I’m all for simple styling, I chose some thrifted white fabric. The knit is an old longsleeve of mine, the woven part of an old sheet.
To spice it up a little (and because I’m seriously hooked on my textile paint) I added a little embellishment in silver paint at the lower corner.
Instead of the prescribed buttons, I used white Kamsnaps, to stay in line with the fresh and clean look of the white.
Since this was a test, not everything was quite perfect yet. I had some trouble with the placket, the top of it didn’t match up nicely with the collar, leaving some strange ends to be hemmed. But the bodice has a wonderful fit on my skinny little 3-years old.

Yay! Thank you so much for sharing about the pattern! I love how the placket looks with the snaps and think that it looks great with the neutral tones of the shirt. Thank you so much for testing and helping me work out the kinks.
