Remember a few months ago, I had the chance to sew a Christmas dress for our little princess, using gorgeous metallic printed fabric by Lotte Martens? Well, she has a new collection out now and once again, I got a lovely email asking me if I wanted to use some of her fabric again. And once again, it took me less than a minute to reply, who would say “no” to such a question?! So here it is, another Lotte Martens party dress for our girly-girl…
For this Party Animals blog tour, I sewed her an Easter dress. Fabric is the Vuurdoorn 08, a soft blushy pink that matches perfectly with her blonde hair and blue eyes, with beautiful pink metallic flowers printed on.
Just magical! So sweet and delicate…. Fabric comes in panels, I used one panel of printed fabric and matched it with some uni fabric in the same colour. These uni fabrics are available in the same colours as the printed panels, making it easy and affordable to sew an item with the unique printed panels.
Echt betoverend!
I used the printed panel for the skirt of the dress and a bit of uni for the lined bodice.
Pattern is the Caroline Party Dress, by Mouse House Creations. I used it once before for a party dress and love the clean lines and faux cap sleeves.
The dress closes with an invisible zipper. Love it when installing one of those works out the way I planned without having to unpick or anything like it!
The bodice is lined, so no visible stitches there. I didn’t do the topstitching of lining to main at the waistline, as the pattern indicates, but handstitched it to the seam allowance. Looks a little less neat on the inside, but lovely clean on the outside!
Great, huge, enormous bonus point of the pattern is that it includes pockets! Not too complicated to add yourself, but I always forget about them until it’s too late. And doesn’t any girl love pockets?!
Especially pockets in a pink and glittery dress of course, if you’re about five years old.
Our little party animal is ready for Easter, in her Lotte Martens party outfit. Thank you so much Lotte, for this lovely opportunity!
Ons kleine feestbeest is klaar voor Pasen, in haar Lotte Martens feestjurk. Heel veel dank voor deze kans Lotte!
To be clear: I received this wonderful fabric free of charge to participate in this blog tour. Other than writing a blog post that uses and mentions the fabric, no requirements were made, so all opinions and ideas are honest and my own, as always.
