As I told you all yesterday, we just launched a Dutch Facebook group for sewists, following the many English examples. The group starts off with a sewalong, focussing on textile decoration. For some inspiration, Huisje Boompje Boefjes and I created a mini-series on the theme.
So today I tried out applique. I must confess I had never done this technique properly before…
I appliqued a tiny heart on the side seam of a pair of baby pants. Well actually it is a pattern without a side seam, but it’s the place where the side seam would have been.
Have you ever done applique? I’d love to see your projects!
Heb jij weleens een applicatie gemaakt? Ik zou het graag zien!

I often do applique. Now that you've started, you might find yourself adding it to lots of things. Great for kids' clothes.

It is a great way to embellish kids' clothes indeed. Didn't really like doing it though, but maybe that comes with more practice!
