So, I replaced the original circle skirt piece by a piece based on the Laguna pattern by Farbenmix. It was quite complex to replace the one circle skirt by the other, since of course the measurements weren’t completely alike, so I even made a muslin, for the first time in about fifteen years.
The Laguna pattern is a circle skirt, with a spiral line. It can be made in a single layer, but I chose the double one. This is the main reason my project was terribly delayed, the double-layer-spiral-circle-skirt takes a huge amount of bias tape to be hemmed. And of course, I ran out. Living on an island, ordering online is my only option, but it took three shops to get the right shade of navy.
I made a size 6 for our 5 year old, who has been growing enormously this summer! The dress is made from a simple navy cotton. The inner layer of the spiral skirt is a white and navy star cotton.
Don’t you love that sweet neckline?
Is het niet schattig, zo’n nekje?

Thank you! I tried to "impose" the spiral on the circle piece from the Tinny, but got hopelessly lost in my maths and got short in time, so instead I adapted the width of the bodice to fit the existing Laguna pattern 😉
Thank you Tasha!

Ah that's so clever! I've just had fun with circle skirt too in a 'flipped' Tinny and know exactly what you mean about hemming! I made a circle – only bigger, and in navy blue too. I'd love it if you took a look ! Thanks
